Anyone and everyone from Queen B to the homeless person that crashes in the alley across the street is sharing and Liking their way onto your newsfeed. Balmain Creative Director Oliver Rousteing, who values Robyn Rihanna Fenty as one of his best friends, is obsessed with Instagram. In an recent interview with Sarah Hay for Issue 327 of i-D Magazine, the twenty-seven-year-old mastermind reveals that "the cool thing about Instagram is that people can interpret your pictures how they want. When [he] posted pictures of [himself] and Rihanna, [Rousteing] got lovers writing, 'You'd make an amazing couple,' and haters writing, 'Chris Brown will fuck you up!' It's so funny to see how people react." Noting Oliver's obsession and RiRi's frequent Insta photo-ops, it was no surprise that the first glimpses of these drool-worthy advertisements were posted on Instagram queen @badgalriri's account this morning. And who better than the Barbados-born beauty to be cast as the newest Balmain Girl?
While some individuals (those who obviously think with their "smaller heads," hehe) hate everything she wears, Rihanna is deeply in love with the fashion industry and the fashion industry loves her right back. As an influential pop star, the executive producer of the fashion reality show called "Styled to Rock," designer of her own signature collection of clothing for River Island, and exhibitionist of her own designer dud-filled Instagram feed, RiRi is on a roller coaster that is only going up, so to speak. Embodying the edgy and non-conformatist qualities of the quintessential Balmain babe, Rousteing was beyond profound when he explained his admiration of the superstar: "Rihanna embodies my vision of Balmain in this new campaign. In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world." Truly no one could better rock this campaign than the one and only Bad Gal RiRi.
